Have you always wanted to visit a silver mine? You can do that in Tellure!
Operation of the Saint-Jean Engelsbourg silver mine began in 1549.
During the tour, you will learn all about the life of miners in the 16th century.
The tour starts with an audio-visual presentation followed by a walk through the museum.
Then you get to pick out a helmet and cape and the tour of the mine can begin.
The temperature in the mine is +/- 10 °C, wear warm clothes and waterproof shoes.
The tour of the mine takes about a 60 minutes, and you descend to 100 meters. Some through passages are quite narrow, if you suffer from claustrophobia I can advise against visiting the mine.
The guides speak, French, German and English. Tellure also features an escape room, and you can expand the standard tour to include climbing and abseiling tours of the mine.
Tellure is open from late March to early November.
With the Alsace Pass, you have free access to the Tellure mine and 56 more attractions in Alsace.

An adventurous hike can be taken around Lac Blanc at an altitude of 1285 meters.
